.
Key Eligibility Requirements for 2026
The 2026 competitive season is the qualification window. Athletes must focus on the following core requirements:
Event Attendance: Compete in a minimum of three (3) MC USA and/or BI events between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026. Please note: Only one of these events may be at the exhibition level.
Citizenship: Proof of a current US passport or a passport application submitted by January 1, 2027, is required.
Membership: Maintenance of current, active membership in both MC USA and Buhurt International (BI) throughout the selection process.
Selection Mechanics
Team and athlete selection will be determined by a combination of 2026 BI Rankings and performance at the National Selection Tournament in early 2027.
Duels and Buhurt Teams (5v5/12v12): The top eight (8) ranked eligible competitors/teams, based on the final 2026 BI rankings, will be invited to the National Selection Tournament.
Team Composition: The policy clearly defines the minimum number of qualifying fighters that must be fielded by selected 5v5 and 12v12 teams at BIWC 2027.
30v30 Category: Selection is based on the core of the 5v5 National Teams, with the remaining roster spots filled by the elected National Team Captain based on clearly defined priority tiers.
