The 2025 Buhurt International World Championships in Visegrad, Hungary are fast approaching, and it's time to select a strong leader to guide Team USA to victory!
Responsibilities of the Role
The Team USA Captain plays a crucial role in ensuring our team's success at the World Championships. The captain's duties include:
Coordinating with team captains and duelists to fill the Team USA roster, including the men's 30v30 roster, and
Representing the interests of the American team with marshals, referees, and tournament organizers.
The Voting Process
Buhurt International requires each National Organization to hold an election to select their Team Captain.
Nominations for Team USA Captain are now open! You can nominate yourself or another member of the MC USA community. All nominations must be submitted by February 4th, 2025 at 2100 ET.
Any member of the community is eligible to be nominated.
Voting will take place from February 4th, 2025 at 2200 ET to February 11th, 2025 at 2100 ET.
Voting Eligibility
We want the captain of Team USA to be elected by the competitors that are attending the tournament. Therefore, the vote is open to those who have earned the top ranking in the following categories at the Carolina Carnage tournament are eligible to vote.
Tier 1 Men's 5v5 Melees (Top two ranked)
Women's 5v5 Melees (Top Ranked)
Men's Tier 1 12v12 Melees (Top Ranked)
Women's 12v12 Melees (Top Ranked)
All Duels categories (Top ranked in each category: Men's & Women's Sword & Shield, Sword & Buckler, Longsword, Polearm)
Outrance (Top Ranked per weight class for both Men's & Women's)
